Our history
We celebrated our 20 year anniversary in 2025
The company began operating in 1995 when a young Ross Taylor took his hobby of buying and selling vehicles out into the real world. Initially operating two temperature regulated vans from the family farm in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Buffaload Logistics is now a complex collections and cross-docking logistics organisation with a fleet in excess of 250 tractor units and 350 trailers. We now operate from facilities in Ellington, Crewe, Bellshill, Spalding, Coventry, Skelmersdale, Avonmouth and Cross Hands.
From strength to strength
Buffaload Logistics has invested to build the largest independently owned double-deck trailer fleet in the UK.
This investment enables us to help you optimise your supply chain. High pallet capacity not only reduces road miles but also minimises vehicle requirements – which contribute to a CO2e emissions reduction of 20%.
As of January 2026 we are proud that 60% of our fleet are Volvo FH tractor units running on LNG fuel which reduces carbon emissions by a further 25%.
A message from Buffaload owner and founder Ross Taylor
We have to act now
Our planet is poised at the brink of a severe climate crisis. Current environmental problems make us vulnerable to disasters and national and international shocks. If humans continue moving forward in such a harmful way towards the future, then there will be no future to consider.
We are officially in a state of climate emergency, with environmental problems piling up high around us. Unless we address the various issues prudently and seriously we are surely heading for disaster.
In partnership with Buffaload you can make your Chilled Delivery Network carbon neutral ahead of government targets. At Buffaload we are pursuing an environmentally responsible approach to Logistics and Cold Chain Supply. We have set up the UK’s first Carbon Neutral Network and we invite your business to join us.
